QUEEN NEFERTITI

Queen Nefertiti, an ancient Egyptian queen who ruled alongside her husband Pharaoh Akhenaten during the 14th century BCE.  Nefertiti is most famous for her beauty, as evidenced by the famous bust of Nefertiti, which is now in the Neues Museum in Berlin. She is also known for her distinctive crown, known as the Nefertiti cap crown.

During her reign, Nefertiti played an important role in the religious and political reforms instituted by her husband. They moved the capital to Amarna, which was dedicated to the worship of the god Aten, and they introduced a new form of art that was more naturalistic and less formal than traditional Egyptian art.

Despite her prominence, much of her life and legacy remains a mystery, including the location of her tomb.
